Q:Differences in dental sheet materials

Polymer raw materials that can be used for clear aligners include copolyesters, TPU, PMMA, EVA, PP, PE, etc. There are significant differences in the performance of different polymers, among which copolyesters and TPU are the most common materials for clear aligners and retainers in recent years.

The structure of the dental sheets is also an important factor in determining aligner performance, and the dental sheets structure can be divided into single-layer, double-layer, composite multi-layer, etc.

In addition, the manufacturing process of the dental sheets has an impact on the performance of the sheets itself.

Q:How to choose thermoforming machine?

For the production of retainers, when there is no high requirement for the thickness distribution and fit of the aligner, a negative pressure thermoforming machine can be used.

For the production of attachment template or other orthodontic appliances, it is recommended to use a positive pressure thermoforming machine. The general pressure selection range is 3.8-4.2 bar. Insufficient pressure can cause uneven distribution of the thickness of the aligner, leading to issues such as poor fit.
